Nicole Catsouras

Nikki Catsouras only agreed to be 18 years of age last Halloween when she required her father's Porsche without permission even though driving 100 miles per hour clipped another vehicle, lost control and condemned right into a cement tollbooth. She was wiped out instantly. Her parent, Christos and Lesli Catsouras were devastated with grief and thought things couldn't worsen but that's where these were wrong.

Nikki's parents are suing California Highway Patrol for seeping accident scene photos that wound up all over the net. The women parents happen to be suffering from anonymous e-mail's which contain images of their daughter in the accident scene. One terrible photo shows the dead teen decapitated but still strapped right in front chair of her father's Porsche.

The images made their method to over 1,600 websites. The household no more uses the web and it has drawn their 16 years old daughter from soccer practice simply because they fear other students might confront her using the pictures. She's now being home trained.

The court in California ruled the suit from the California Highway Patrol may go forward. The CHP, inside a letter towards the Catsouras family, accepted their dispatchers violated department policy but mentioned that they're not legally accountable for the discomfort and anguish it triggered the household. That will not be for that CHP to find out - and can depend on the courts to determine.

May 2, 2009 UPDATE: The situation has become restored interest as the family awaits a legitimate ruling in the fourth District Court of Appeals that's due by June 1, 2009. Their original situation was ignored in Oc Superior Court. The judge ruled that Nikki's to privacy didn't include her grieving family. A legal court can uphold the findings or can send it to trial. The costs originate from the CHP leaked photos from the dead girl's body which were distributed broadly on the web.
