Oracle Sql Developer For Mac Os X
SQL Developer doesn't have a 'sql command prompt'. What you are seeing is probably SQL.PLus. SQLPlus is installed either as a standalone client; or as part of the database install. To use SQL Developer, you need to have a separate database - either on a remote server, or installed locally. Oracle SQL Developer is designed to provide complete end-to-end development of PL/SQL apps, a DBA console for database management, a migration platform for easy import of third party databases, a worksheet for running scripts and queries, a reports interface and a comprehensive data modeling solution.
